Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Irish woman, after skin cancer. Breast cancer will affect 1 in 9 Irish women during their life. Statistics show women in Limerick, Cork and Dublin are at a higher risk of breast cancer.
Breastcheck.ie offers a free mammogram to Irish aged 50-69 every two years. The aim of BreastCheck is reduce the number of deaths by diagnosing the cancer earlier. We have acted for many women under 50 where breast cancer was not suspected due to their age.
